Bona Life Insurance is the first indigenous broad-based citizen-owned life insurance company in Botswana which was founded in 2013. Ms. Keakabetse is a young and versatile leader and has held various roles within the Financial Services industry. She brings with her a track record of strategic leadership and execution. She holds an MSc of Finance from the University of Dundee and a Bachelor of Information Systems from the University of Botswana.

Ms. Keakabetse has diverse and expansive insurance experience, having risen through the ranks whilst working for Botswana Life, followed by management roles at RMB and Standard Chartered Bank. She joined the Metropolitan Life Executive for 5 years and joins BONA LIFE from Liberty Life where she held the role of Head of Group Business Development.

She will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of BONA LIFE’s long-term strategy with a view to creating excellent value for both the client and shareholder.

With resounding passion for her countrymen, Ms Keakabetse serves her customers with humility and diligence. She welcomes the opportunity to join a company that has trail blazed the Financial Services Sector.

Tlolagano Mangadi has over 12 years’ experience in the insurance industry. She has a sound understanding of the life insurance business underpinned by an Actuarial Science Degree from Temple University.  

Mangadi has held various roles across both the life and health insurance spectrum having started at Botswana Life, followed by senior positions at Bomaid, Metropolitan Life and Botsogo. She is an active member of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA). With her solutions-drive thinking, she is responsible for implementing policies and creating efficiencies that are geared towards ensuring excellent customer experience.

An insurance and risk management professional with over 6 years of experience in regulation and possesses technical skills in development and monitoring risk management, insurance and AML/CFT frameworks and processes.

Ditau who is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa has a wealth of experience in the financial sector as she held various positions in CEDA, NBFIRA and BIC. The Strategic Management Masters Degree holder's key responsibilities include implementation of departmental objectives in relation to compliance, risk management and corporate governance.

Chris Ntabu is a chartered accountant with over 10 years in strategic leadership ranging from Manufacturing, Banking and Insurance.

Chris started his career as an auditor with one of the big 5 audit firms before joining the parastatal sector holding various roles.

Mr Ntabu has since joined the private sector, elevating to senior leadership in the process. He held various strategic roles ranging from Finance and Admin Manager, Board and Company secretary to his current Chief Finance Officer position. These roles covered his time with the Botswana Savings Bank, Metropolitan Life, Botsogo Health Plan, Metropolitan Health, and Momentum Life.

Kutlo Rendoh has over 9 years experience in the Insurance industry.

She holds a degree in Bsc. Actuarial Science and is currently pursuing her professional studies to become a fully Qualified Actuary.  She is currently a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Rendoh worked for Botswana Life Insurance Limited where she held a number of various roles within the Actuarial discipline.

As Actuarial Manager, her key responsibilities include leading strategic initiatives and projects such as product development, adoption of new financial standards as well as managing various Business portfolios.

Gaone Oaitse has 10 years’ experience in the financial service sector. He began his career at Stanbic Bank, then Liberty Life and Metropolitan Life where he was the corporate business manager before recently joining Bona Life.

Gaone holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology from The University of Botswana and IISA Certificate of Proficiency (C.O.P) long term. He recently completed a Middle leadership programme from Duke University Corporate Education.

Gaone’s current role as the head of Business Development for Bona life includes leading and managing both Retail and Corporate divisions to deliver on Bona Life's financial strategic goals.

Board Chairman

Mr. Legomela Dittah Molodi is currently the General Counsel in the Office of the President, a position that he has held since 2016. He was attained a Master of Laws (Environmental Law) from the University of Natal (SA) in 2002. He has since played an advisory role to various government ministries and officials on the Law and its implications as an Assistant Government Attorney. Molodi also played a significant role and participated in policy formulation as a member of the Attorney General Chamber’s Senior Management Team between 2010 and 2018. He has 10 years of experience and a rich knowledge of the Law at a national advisory level.

Mr T. Marenga holds the position of Secretary General of the Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU), a post he has held since 2009.

He is holds a Diploma in Human Resource Development from the Institute of Commercial Development as a a Diploma in Labour Law from Gaborone University of Law. He has attended various on the job training including Corporate Governance King III Code and Negotiation and Collective Bargaining.

His expertise and dedication to public servants is a key asset to the Board of Trustees and the Fund as a whole.

He holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund, which has recently fully capitalized Bona Life making it the only shareholder. Before then, he held the position of Investment & Portfolio Director from 2013. He served as the Investment Manager of the Fund from 2010.

Before he joined BPOPF, Moemedi was a Senior Analyst at Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBIFIRA) and was Head of Business Development and an Analyst at Fincraft Investment Management. He attained a Bachelor of Engineering from Carleton University, Ottawa, an MBA (Mancosa) and also studied Security and Investment Analysis at the Johannesburg School of Finance.

Mr. Dingake was admitted as an attorney, conveyancer and notary public of the High Court and other courts of Botswana in 2006 after completing his LLB Degree the same year with the University of Botswana. He has worked for Boko Motlhala & Co and Modimo & Associates where he became the Managing Partner for two (2) years until he resigned to establish DLP. 

Mr. Dingake has worked at the University of Botswana, Department of Law, part-time for two (2) years as a teaching assistant in public law stream of Diploma in Law where he taught Administrative Law;Human Rights Law in Botswana; Advanced Criminal Litigation and Constitutional Law. Mr. Dingake provides a consultancy and/or training with Connect Resources in the new Companies Act; corporate governance and industrial labour relations. Mr. Dingake is also a Secondary Trainer on Industrial Labour Relations & Employment Law with Exelle.

Board Member

Ademola is a proven financial services professional with a successful track record. He has  a strong commercial outlook coupled with strategy and policy formulation; and  implementation. He has more than thirty-two (32) years’ experience in financial services,  twelve of which were gained in the UK and twenty in South Africa.

Ademola is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries London, Fellow of Actuarial Society of  South Africa and obtained MBA from a leading European business school.

Ademola has operated across the broad range of financial services organisations including a bank, insurance companies, asset management (including private equity) and financial  services consulting organisations; in varieties of senior positions including as an executive  director and a managing director.

How do I make amendments to my policy?

Fill out an amendment form supplied by Bona Life, and attach relevant supporting documents based on the nature of the amendment. For example:

  • Addition of a child to policy – birth certificate
  • Change of name- marriage, divorce decree or affidavit
  • Change of bank- new banking details 
How do I get my statement for my investment or savings policy?

Send a request to client service team via the various touchpoints (walk-ins, email, Whatsapp, Facebook, telephone) to prepare a policy valuation. Policy valuation will be shared via your preferred medium.

How do I cede my policy for a loan?

Send a request to cede policy to Bona Life and on confirmation of policy status, you will complete a cession form. Attach the KYC forms and policy documents will be prepared showing the cession. This is what you will take to the bank to complete the cession.

How do I surrender my investment or savings policy?

Submit KYC documents, Complete surrender form, write surrender letter & attach bank statement for account that the money will be deposited to.
